Parents & Students,
I hope students enjoyed this week’s NCBI workshops, from what I have heard, it seems like many freshmen enjoyed this experience and opened up to their peers. A few quick reminders:
D’s & F’s: As the semester is winding down, I want to emphasize a few important repercussions of earning a D or F, specifically in Biology and Spanish. If a student earns a D or F in Biology, the student will have to repeat the course in order to move onto Chemistry and Physics, which ensures the student remains on the four- year college track. If a student earns a D or F in Spanish 1, they will have to repeat the course, prior to moving on to Spanish 2. However, if the student earns a C or better their second semester of Spanish 1, they may move on to Spanish 2.
Nov. 21- Nov. 25: Thanksgiving break. Enjoy the holiday, but also keep in mind that this is a great time to catch up on any missing assignments.
Nov 30. Eligibility declared. Eligibility determines a student’s ability to participate in school co-curricular actives such as sports and plays. Students must have a GPA of at least a 2.0 and no F’s to remain eligible.
Dec.12 – Dec. 16: Study week. Remember to finish this semester strong!
Dec. 20 – Dec. 22: First semester finals
I am thankful to work in this community and with this freshman class. I wish you all a wonderful Thanksgiving.
