Cougar Parent Club Looking for Parents to Help Out Next Year
We are pleased to have volunteers for most of the Cougar Parent Club positions such as president, vice president, secretary, and treasurer for next year. But, we are still looking for a parent volunteer to help coordinate enrichment programs for next year. For example, this year we showed movies about gender stereotypes and arranged for sexual assault prevention workshops for seniors. We are also looking for a parent representative for the class of 2018. These positions only require volunteering a few hours a month; click here for full position descriptions. If you are willing to volunteer for one of these positions or to help out with one-time events please email Karen Holl (firstname.lastname@example.org). We need many hands to be able to offer the various academic, career, and enrichment programs sponsored by the Cougar Parent Club.

Hello, SLVHS Parents!
Grad Night is getting close and it has been a long-standing tradition at SLVHS that the parents of the Junior Class head up staffing on the actual night. This is for two reasons. First and foremost, this way we get a good look at what goes on and begin to get ideas about what we may do for our kids next year. Secondly, this way the Graduates, for the most part, don’t have their own parents around on their celebration night. If you are a parent of Sophomores or Freshman, we encourage you to sign up as well and get an early look at this fun event.
Please take a look at the Sign-Up and see what job might appeal to you.
The sooner you sign-up the better choice you will have, so get in early.
Looking forward to working with you,
Andrea Yanowitz, Grad Night Volunteer Coordinator
Senior Parents – We NEED volunteers to make this happen for your kids
May 23 – 25 SLVHS Multi-Purpose Room – Financial Literacy Simulation
We need parent volunteers for the Bite of Reality financial simulator. This event for HS Seniors will be a real-life exercise in managing their own finances after they graduate in June. Volunteers will be needed at different stations that students visit. No training needed beforehand, instructions will be given each day. Lunch will be provided each day for all volunteers. Without our volunteers, we will not have enough people for this real-life financial education experience to happen!
SLVHS Graduation – Class of 2017
Save the Date! SLVHS Graduation this year will be on Friday, June 9, beginning at 10:00 am on the SLV High School Football Field.
Stayed tuned for more detailed information coming soon in the newsletter.
