Have a Great Homecoming Weekend!
- The First Grading Period ends on Friday, October 6.
- Teachers have the weekend and Monday to complete grades.
- But some teachers may close their gradebooks sooner than Friday.
- When an individual classroom gradebook closes for the grading period is up to the teacher.
- Teachers will let students know when the gradebook for their class closes.
- Administration will freeze and store grades on the Tuesday, October 10th.
- Eligibility is declared on Wednesday, October 11th. Starting that day, students who do not meet eligibility may not longer participate in any activities that require eligibility. Students who were ineligible become eligible on this day if they have meet requirements for the first grading period.
- Progress Reports will be put in the mail on Friday, October 13.
Sophomores – Get those Permission Slips turned in for FREE PSAT test during school on October 11
We need parent permission slips turned for each student who wants to take the test. As of now just over half the sophomore class has turned them in.
Please get this turned in ASAP. I am including an additional copy of the letter attached to this email in case you need it.
The PSAT stands for Practice SAT – the test most juniors take show college and career readiness. The chance to take the practice test on site for free is a great opportunity for any sophomore no matter what you and your child see as the proper post-secondary path to take. The results can also help SLVHS to support students in their academic needs.
Cougar Club has a $4,000 Donations Goal which will be matched by an Anonymous Donor!
The Cougar Parents Club is the educational booster club at SLVHS. The Cougar Club sponsors many important programs for your children including college preparation and career readiness programs, college bus trips, and enrichment workshops and movies on topics such as financial responsibility and mental health awareness. The Cougar Club also funds equipment and classroom supplies. To keep these valuable programs going we need your support.
We are thrilled to announce that an anonymous donor has generously offered $4000 in matching funds through December 2017. We are asking each family to consider donating $20-100 (or more) and each donation will be doubled. If your employer offers donation matching, you can triple the impact of your donation! All the money goes to support programs that benefit SLVHS students.
It’s easy and tax deductible due to the help of the San Lorenzo Valley Education Foundation. Go to www.slvfoundation.org/fund-
