Hi parents & students,
Just a few updates for you all:
PE: The PE department is offering both makeups and extra credit Thursdays after school. The location will be determined weekly, either the pool or track. Extra credit is only offered if all class requirements are up to date. The mile time for extra credit must be 16 mins or below, which is the equivalent of a brisk walk. If you have any specific questions regarding these opportunities please contact your PE teacher, Mrs. Wise (email@example.com) or Mr.Coulson (firstname.lastname@example.org).
A Message Regarding the Upcoming NCBI Workshops (Nov. 13 – Nov.17)
NCBI stands for the National Coalition Building Institute, we are the longest running chapter in the country, having been at SLVHS for over 15 years. We promote diversity, teen peer support, and interrupting negative behavior around campus. Our club puts on multiple week-long workshops for the freshmen class, and at the middle school. Our objectives are to creating a better sense of our community in the San Lorenzo Valley and how to be allies for each other. Our workshop is put on by students for students; the leaders are upperclassmen having been trained through the workshop and have taken an extra interest and passion in what NCBI does. This workshop provides an opportunity for students to share stories about themselves, which really bring the group together. We ask that each student comes to the workshop with an open mind and a supportive heart, and we look forward to seeing what your group of freshmen can teach us! Any parent who does not wish for their child to participate needs to send a note to your counselor or PE teacher before November 13th.
