Panama Trip this Summer
Ms. Osenga will be running a non-school-sponsored trip to Panama this summer, similar to the East Coast Trip at the Middle School.
Below is a message for those who might be interested:
I am organizing a trip to Panamá summer 2019 because of increased interest from families and students for travel abroad experience. After very successful trips the last three summers to Costa Rica, Perú, and Spain we are traveling to rent Club is working with SLVHS College and Career Specialist Charlotte Achen and independent Educational Consultant Kathryn Pierno to offer a college essay writing feedback session from 5:30-7 on October 24. We are looking for parent and community volunteers with some editing experience to give seniors feedback on their college essays. To sign up register at https://www.eventbrite.com/e/volunteer-college-admission-essay-readers-tickets-49567849773. Parent volunteers need to arrive at 5:15 and will be given guidance on giving feedback on college essays. Panamá this summer! The estimated departure date is June 14 (with a 3 day window before or after this date). This is a 8-day trip offered to students from SLVHS. We are organizing the tour through EF tours (Education First) again who provide a 24-7 tour guide and daily excursions. The tour is all-inclusive with many sightseeing excursions, walking tours lead by local guides, visits to the Panamá city, the Panamá canal, El Valle de Antón, Gatun Lake and Chagres National Park. We will visit museums, indigenous communities, and tour places of historic interest. We are excited to extend language-learning and cultural immersion outside of the classroom in the most authentic way possible: world travel! This is not a school-sponsored trip. It is booked through a private company.

This is a reminder that San Lorenzo Valley Unified School District policy, as set by the Board of Trustees, declares that we are a fragrant-neutral district. As we begin to have our drama performances and other site-based activities and meetings, please take care to follow the policies below for the sake of the students and members of our community who are highly allergic to fragrances and scents.
The SLVUSD Board of Trustees adopted a California School Board Association policy to make all district classrooms and offices fragrant neutral. SLVHS has parents, students, and community members with respiratory issues who can have negative reactions to fragrances. Please take care to follow the policy while on campus.
Staff and students shall refrain from bringing furred or feathered animals, stuffed toys that may collect dust mites, scented candles, incense or air fresheners and from using perfume or cologne, scented hair spray, nail polish or nail polish remover that are not fragrance-free in classrooms or other enclosed areas or buildings.
