For seniors, this current semester grades are required for earning CSF honors at the Senior Awards Night.
NHS (National Honor Society), the most prestigious honors club recognized nationwide, is open to students who not only achieve a 3.0 grade point average, but exemplify and demonstrate the ideals of leadership, character, scholarship and service. Its annual membership drive is in October. Students who meet the scholarship requirement (3.0 minimum GPA) can submit an information packet consisting of two letters (or forms) of recommendation, a parent/guardian endorsement, a resume of school and community activities, and an essay which illustrates the four requirements mentioned above. A faculty committee reviews this packet. Students gaining the committee’s approval are then invited to become dues-paying ($20) members for the school year. Dues pay for national club dues, club events, and graduation awards. A minimum of two years of membership in 10th through 12th grade earns a member honors at the Senior Awards Night.
