Counselors will meet with all freshmen in the spring semester to discuss graduation status, sophomore year course requests, and getting involved on campus. We can create a tentative 4-year plan.
TIPS FOR FRESHMEN

- Attend Freshmen Orientation & review your schedule
- Learn about your campus, and find out where your classes and important buildings are (library, counseling office, cafeteria)
- Earn good grades, Freshman year counts!
- Meet new people, make new friends
- Get involved at SLVHS with clubs and sports
- Attend Club Day and join a club
- Fall finals are in December - study, study, study!

- Review course catalog to select sophomore classes - talk to friends, sophomores, teachers, academic counselors, etc.
- Maintain good grades
- Spring finals are in June…study, study, study!
- Register for summer school if you need credit recovery
- Plan for summer: read a book or two, get a job, volunteer/community service
