From the Senior Counselor March 9th

HI Seniors,
Just a few CRITICAL reminders. Please check the ones that apply to you:

Cabrillo Honors Applications due March 15th by midnight - Students applying to the Cabrillo Honors Program need to make sure that all their materials are delivered to Cabrillo by the deadline. Here's the link: https://www.cabrillo.edu/services/honors/graduating-seniors.html

AP Exams: This is a reminder email regarding the upcoming AP exams. The last day to add or drop a test is this Thursday, March 12th by 3:30. Come to the Admin Office to drop a test.

Please note: if you cancel your test you are still required to pay a $40 cancellation fee per test.

Fees for the exams will be collected starting Monday, March 16. The cost is $94 per test ($53 if you qualify for reduced fees). If you signed up for the test after Nov 16, 2019, there is an additional late order fee of $40.

Please bring your check to Annina in the Admin office by Friday, April 3. Make checks payable to SLVHS ASB.

SEP meetings with your mentors - Students were required to meet with their mentors during the month of March. This is your last chance to check in before the final copy is due when we return from spring break. While many students and mentors have already met and are on track with their portfolios, I have a few mentors who report that they have not seen their mentees. Please check in with your mentors and get the help you need.

Extra Help with the SEP - Ms. Hager, our counseling intern extraordinaire, has offered to help students with their SEPs during the week of March 30-April 3. She will be in the High school library during the school day to help students who need extra help with writing and editing. Take advantage of this opportunity to work with an expert and get the help you need to get your SEP done before Spring Break.

AT Risk Senior meetings/Attendance Issues - A few of you have been enjoying your senior year a little too much. You are still required to show up for classes and actually do the work. After spring break we will be meeting with seniors who are at risk of not graduating and inviting their parents and administrators to be a part of that discussion. There's still time to turn things around before spring break. Make the most of these next few weeks.

Cheering you all on as you near the finish line.
