From the Senior Counselor 2/12/21

Hi parents & students-

I hope you all have a great three-day weekend ahead- I know I am stoked for the extra day off! I recognize that this email has a lot of text, but PLEASE at least skim through it to make sure you are aware of all the upcoming events and important information.

Senior Contracts. Should have arrived at your homes via snail mail. Please review the requirements for your student to graduate from SLVHS. If you have any questions or concerns please do not hesitate to contact me. Signed contracts can be submitted to me digitally or, if it is easier, physical copies can be dropped off to Jeannette in Counseling Office.

Did you apply to a four year college? If so, PLEASE keep checking your college portals for updates. This is so crucial since I have NO WAY OF KNOWING what you need unless you tell me directly. For example, does your school need an updated transcript? Do they need any additional documentation? Are parts of your app missing? Please stay on top of this, it is YOUR responsibility.

Appointments. Students, just a friendly reminder, I am here for you. I miss you. I would selfishly love to see your faces. So, if you need a check in with me feel free to make an appointment here. Reasons to meet with me may include, just a general check in for socialization purposes, discussing individual graduation requirements, answering college questions, or if you are having any current academic struggles.

West Valley College. If you are interested in attending West Valley College, please see attached for more info from their counseling department regarding enrollment.

Cabrillo Meet & Greet Opportunity Feb 25th. Check out this event.

FAFSA Apps, Priority Deadline March 2. If you have not submitted your FAFSA Application, please do not wait! The earlier you get it in, the more potential aid you can recieve. To start your FAFSA, click here

Cabrillo Honors Program Application Due March 15th. For those of you interested in applying to the Cabrillo Honors Program, please go here for more info. This is also a great back up option for some students who may have been planning to go to a four-year college, but may be now considering staying local and attending Cabrillo.
