Interested in Taking a Cabrillo Class?

Dear Students (and parentals)

 

When we look for silver linings in this crazy year I would have to point out that many of you were able to take advantage of taking a college class at Cabrillo. You had more time available and more access than ever before.

Many of you have asked or indicated that you want to take a summer or fall class at Cabrillo. At this point Cabrillo is planning to offer classes primarily online which makes it still very accessible for all of us. If you are one of those students or parents who have asked about taking a Cabrillo class then please read on:

 

October, 2020 - Registration opens. That's right. You can apply right now and you should. Here's the link and remember to apply as a high school student. Also if you are currently enrolled at Cabrillo, you still need to do this each semester you attend as a high school student.

 

April 9, 2021 - Deadline for students who want priority registration. You can sign up 3 days earlier than most high school students for popular summer and fall classes. But you must complete placement, submit the orientation e-form in your My Cabrillo account, and plan your course in your My Cabrillo account 

If you complete these 3 action items by April 9th then you will get to register ahead of other students and have priority registration. This could help you get into a class you really want to take.

 

April 13, 2021 - Summer and Fall Class Schedules go online!! You can finally see what classes are being offered this summer and next fall for sure and when they are being offered. Confirm that your class works for you and your life.

 

After April 13,2021 - Submit your dual enrollment form with the signature page signed by a parent and your high school counselor - that would be me! We want to make sure all of us have signed and agreed on the classes you want to take. And we have to submit this form to Cabrillo. The form is now found in your My Cabrillo account.

 

May 25, 2021 - Summer/Fall Registration for Priority High School students Go online and sign up for your class. If the class is full you can put yourself on the waitlist.

 

Congratulations! You have gotten yourself into a Cabrillo class. Now you just need to show up and do the work! High school students do not pay tuition for Cabrillo classes. The only cost can be the textbook or materials needed. 

 

After the class is over and you receive a grade: Take a screenshot of your final grade in your My Cabrillo account and share it with your high school counselor-again, that's me! We will make sure you get high school credit as well as college credit for the class.
