2021

SLVHS Graduation Information:  Football Field - Friday, June 4th - 10:00am-11:30am

We are pleased to be offering a live graduation ceremony at the end of this school year.

We are able to allow four guests per Graduate for this High School Graduation Ceremony.

The Graduation ceremony will be held on the SLVHS Football Field.  The field will be sectioned off for family seating area on the turf field.

Due to the make-up of the field, the following requirements will be in place:

  1.    Bring a chair with a sled type of bottom and/or a blanket to sit on thefield. No chairs with regular legs.

                                photo: lawn chairs

  1. No high heel shoes allowed for graduates or guests. Flats, athletic shoes, or wedge shoes are allowable
  2. Four guests per graduate.  We cannot go over this number for any reason.
  3.     The home bleachers will be open for those who prefer sitting in the stands. Social distancing will be enforced and there are limited seats
  4. Where you sit with your four is on a first-come, first-serve basis. You will be seated on the field or in the bleachers as you arrive

We will begin seating at 8:30 am

  1.   Seating in chairs will be available on the track for guests who cannot sit on the field or bleachers
  2.     Masks and social distancing required for all participants andguests

We wish anyone who wanted to come could come.  But that is not the case.  We must follow the protocols in place for these live events. We have measured the field and bleachers for social distancing to create enough space for 4 guests per graduate. Any more and we would be going beyond allowed capacity.  Please don't ask for extra guests, as we cannot accommodate.

However - The Good News is the Graduation Ceremony will be Streamed Live Online for Free!

The link to the Livestream is below. You will have to create a free account:

We hope that adding this livestream helps to minimize the difficulty of the 4-person limit.

immunization

Important Information Regarding Immunization Requirements and Medical Exemptions

Please review the following information regarding changes in medical exemption laws regarding immunization requirements for school and child care admission for the 2021/22 school year  (SB-276 & SB-714)

For admissions on or after January 1, 2021, what is required for a medical exemption to a required immunization?

Starting January 1, 2021:

  • Medical exemptions can only be issued through the California Immunization Registry – Medical Exemption website (CAIR-ME) by physicians licensed in California.
  • Schools and child care facilities may only accept from parents new medical exemptions that are issued using CAIR-ME.

Are medical exemptions filed for children in attendance at a California child care facility or school before 2021 valid in later years?

A medical exemption filed at a pre-kindergarten facility or school remains valid until the earliest of:

  • When the child enrolls in the next grade span.(TK/K-6th grade, 7th-12th grade)
  • The expiration date specified in a temporary medical exemption.
  • Revocation of the exemptionbecause the issuing physician has been subject to disciplinary action from the physician’s licensing entity.

The District Nurse will be reaching out to families of students with medical exemptions entering the next grade span (7-12) and/or their exemption was written by one the physicians listed as having disciplinary action. Please contact the District Nurse at 831-335-9877 or [email protected] with questions or concerns regarding your student’s immunization or exemption status. Thank you.
