This year, ALL Freshman will be given a new school-issued Chromebook for use in their classes.
This Chromebook comes loaded with all of the software necessary and/or required for school use.
Freshmen should NOT bring a personal computer this year. They are to bring the new school-issued Chromebook.
Incoming Freshmen should pick up their new School-Issued Chromebooks from the High School Library on August 9th or August 10th from 8:00 am to 1:30 pm.
If you cannot make it at that time, students can pick them up in the High School library on the first day of school.

While positive cases in our county have been on an upswing, we are all hoping that Covid becomes a smaller issue as we move forward with this new school year.
Schools will again be following the guidance and direction of County Public Health and the County Office of Education.
There is no requirement regarding vaccination at school for students or staff.
However, adult volunteers working with students must be vaccinated for COVID. This only applies to someone working with or around students in a voluntary capacity. This applies to adults volunteering in a classroom, a field trip, a sporting event, or school activity where students are present. This does not apply to adults coming as a parent or family member to a meeting with staff, as part of a parent booster club meeting, or as a spectator at an event.
Use of SLV Campus Facilities
Now that summer is officially over, please be aware that there is no public use of school facilities from 7:00 am to 3:30 pm on School Days.
This is for all facilities, including the pool, the tennis courts, the track and field, the baseball fields, and basketball courts.
Thank you for your cooperation in keeping our campus safe.
Most Mondays are Early Release Days at SLVHS
The start time for the High School will be at 7:55 every day. Most Mondays will be shortened days, with an Early Release time of 2:01 pm.
Zero period will still begin at 7:00 am each day. The complete Bell Schedules for all types of days are at the bottom of this newsletter, and there is a link to the SLVHS Calendar, which shows the type of Bell Schedule day for the entire school year.

Chromebook Loaner Policy
Students without a device instead may “check out” a device from the school district for the entire year.
Much like the textbooks students check out, they can go home with the student each night to be used for homework.
Students need to bring charged Chromebooks to school each day.
Students who wish to check out a loaner Chromebook for the year may do so during Cougar Day or at the SLVHS Library.
CHECK OUT A CHROMEBOOK AND BRING IT EVERY DAY.
GETTING A CLASSROOM CHROMEBOOK EVERY DAY OR GOING TO THE LIBRARY TO GET ONE EVERY DAY IS NOT AN OPTION THIS YEAR.
