SLVHS Spring Musical 2022 Musical - Vocal Auditions

Auditions for the spring 2022 musical are upon us!

General vocal auditions will take place on Monday, November 8 from 3:00-5:00 p.m. at the middle school in room 24.

There is an online audition form; students should fill out the form in advance.

Audition requirements are available on the SLV Theatre Boosters' webpage.

Everyone is welcome to audition!

 

 

 

Diversity Center Presentations

On Monday, November 8th, the Diversity Center of Santa Cruz County and the SLVHS GSA club will present and answer questions from our freshmen in the PAC during their PE classes.  These presentations and conversations have helped our student body to become more informed and knowledgeable in the areas of diversity and gender.

 

 

 

Attention boys interested in playing soccer. 

Tryouts for the high school team will begin on Monday, November 8th at 3:30 on the turf field. 

Come prepared to play. See Mr. Coulson if you have any questions.

 

Memorial Services for Rob Lahey

The Lahey family would like to inform the SLV community of two memorial services next weekend for Rob Lahey, SLVHS Math teacher, who passed away earlier this year after a courageous fight with cancer.

Seniors: It's Time for You to Fill Out the FASFA - Federal Student Aid Application

The 22-23 Federal Student Aid Application or FAFSA  is now open! Below is information  on the FAFSA. We highly encourage you to get this application early so you get priority aid consideration for college.  All Seniors that complete their FAFSA application before January 7th will be receiving a surprise in the Spring.

FAFSA lets you know where you stand and what you can get as far as aid for college.  

 

Charlotte Achen sent all Seniors an email with a ton of information on FASFA.  

Things such as What is FASFA? Why is it important I apply? What do I need to do? What are the deadlines? Where can I find the application? 

Check your school email to answer all FAFSA questions you may have.

Trip Abroad to Dominican Republic

Chelsie Osenga, Spanish teacher, is organizing a trip to the Dominican Republic summer of 2022 because of increased interest from families and students at SLVHS for a travel abroad experience. After very successful trips past summers to Costa Rica, Perú, Spain and Panamá, we are traveling to the Dominican Republic in 2022! 

The Dominican Republic offers a seamless blend of tropical terrain, rich history, and heritage as well as having an opportunity to be immersed in the Spanish language and converse with native speakers. From evergreen rainforests, to idyllic oceanside villages, and bustling city squares, you’ll explore colorful island life from a local perspective, gaining a sense of community as you visit an environmental school and art nonprofit.

 

Ms. Osenga will be hosting a mandatory virtual parent informational meeting on October 21st at 6:00 pm for all those who are interested!

 

Please join our meeting to hear all the details including the itinerary, dates, and cost of this trip. The meeting will also mark the official opening of enrollment!

SLVHS Primavera Musical 2022 Musical - Audiciones vocales
¡Las audiciones para el musical de primavera 2022 están sobre nosotros!
Las audiciones vocales generales se llevarán a cabo el lunes 8 de noviembre de 3:00 a 5:00 p.m. en la escuela media en el salón 24.

Presentaciones del Centro de Diversidad
El lunes, 8 de noviembre, el Centro de Diversidad del Condado de Santa Cruz y el club GSA de SLVHS presentarán y responderán a las preguntas de nuestros estudiantes de primer año en el PAC durante sus clases de educación física.  Estas presentaciones y conversaciones han ayudado a nuestro cuerpo estudiantil a estar más informados y conocedores en las áreas de diversidad y género.

Servicios conmemorativos para Rob Lahey
La familia Lahey quiere informar a la comunidad de SLV de dos servicios conmemorativos el próximo fin de semana para Rob Lahey, profesor de matemáticas de SLVHS, que falleció a principios de este año después de una valiente lucha contra el cáncer.
