Academic Counseling

Overview

Counselors meet with students to provide counseling and support in their high school goals and preparation for life after high school. We collaborate with students, parents/guardians, staff, and teachers to help facilitate student success.

Students can drop in before school, at lunch, or after school to meet with their academic counselor one-to-one. They can also make appointments with their academic counselor via email or through Calendly based on availability. Parents/Guardians are welcome to contact their student’s academic counselor via email or phone or schedule a meeting through Calendly.

Mission:

The San Lorenzo Valley High School Academic Counseling Department is dedicated to supporting every student throughout their high school journey and beyond. We provide equitable, inclusive, and culturally responsive counseling that empowers students to achieve academic success, foster personal growth, and prepare for college, careers, and life.

Through collaboration with educators, families, and our community, we help students explore their goals, overcome challenges, and celebrate their individuality. Our mission is for every student to feel seen, supported, and inspired to become a confident, capable, and compassionate lifelong learner who contributes positively to their community and the world.

Vision:

Our vision is for every student to graduate with confidence, purpose and a strong sense of self. We aspire to create a supportive and inclusive school community where all students feel valued, have equitable access to opportunities, and are inspired to reach their full potential. By fostering resilience, empathy, and lifelong learning, we envision our students becoming compassionate leaders who contribute meaningfully to their communities and to the world.
